Murray Pulver began his career as a member of the award winning bands Crash Test Dummies and Doc Walker. Doc Walker won Group of the Year from the Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) four times and garnered numerous number one videos, top five singles, and rave reviews. The Crash Test Dummies album “A Worm’s Life” achieved platinum certification less than one month after its release date, and from there Murray toured around the world with the band, playing shows with Alanis Morissette, No Doubt, and Ashley McIsaac, to name a few.

Besides being a multi-award-winning musician however, Murray has long been sought out for his talents as producer for his musical depth and renowned ability to highlight what’s best for each song. His accolades include: 2009 CCMA Producer of the Year; 2 WCMA’s for Producer of the Year; and Canadian Folk Producer of the Year. In 2013 Murray produced The Bros. Landreth’s critically acclaimed album “Let It Lie,” which won a Juno for Roots & Traditional Album of the Year. Murray has also completed projects for Sierra Noble, Don Amero, Sweet Alibi and Alana Levandoski.

the GUEST LIST

THE GUEST LIST

With so many opportunities to collaborate with talented Canadian and international musicians, Murray wondered “Hmmm…what would happen if I co-wrote a new tune with ten different artists and then recorded with them?” The result is The Guest List with Murray Pulver and friends. Murray had no problems lining up the talent. Highlights include a quirky new diddy with Brad Roberts of Crash Test Dummies, a great original song with the roots darlings The Bros. Landreth (for whom Murray also produced a Juno winning album), and even an entertaining number with Kevin McDonald from Kids In The Hall.

For this project, Murray has collaborated on each song with a different songwriter who will also perform on their song. It’s a novel idea for an album of various contributors with one central person, Murray, as the “rug that ties the room together.” I’ve heard most of the songs, and it will be a terrific album. Collaborative songwriters include Brad Roberts (Crash Test Dummies), Kevin MacDonald (Kids in the Hall), The Bros. Landreth, Carolyn Dawn Johnson, Chris and Dave of Doc Walker, Sierra Noble, Ego Spank, Squeek, JD Edwards, JP Hoe, and Steve Bell.
